Charles Drain began singing at the age of eight. and formed a quartet at ten years of age.
As an adult, Charles also had a band that recorded for various different record companies.
Charles also spent 1966 and 1967 background singing for almost every group that recorded in Chicago at the time.
He was a member / lead singer of the group, The Tabs.

In 1976, he moved to the St. Louis area and recorded his only LP 'Dependable' for RCA.
The album contained the track 'I'm Gonna Stay'.
Popular on the U.K. soul scene.
The album was produced and arranged by Kent Washburn and Michael L. Smith.
Charles Drain died on 18th March 1995.
